| Jonathan Atkinson is a longtime member of the dance community, specializing in both American and International style ballroom. He has been dancing since he was 20 years old, having started as a student at an Arthur Murray studio in Beverly Hills.
In 1994, Jonathan began competing in American smooth, climbing up the professional ranks with his wife Melissa over the next 10 years to acquire the titles of 2nd Place U.S. Rising Star Smooth Finalist, Open Professional Smooth Semi-Finalist, and 9-Dance Finalist. |

| Lorena Bravo was first introduced to competitive ballroom dancing her freshman year at the University of Southern California. As an amateur, Lorena competed in International Latin, American Smooth, and American Rhythm. In 2007, she and her partner, Evan Yeh, became U.S. National Amateur finalists in American Rhythm and the 9 Dance category.
In October 2004, Lorena began dancing Pro/Am American Smooth with Jonathan Atkinson. By 2007 they had won the U.S. Pro-Am American Smooth Championship. The two continue dancing together professionally in both American Smooth and International Standard. Lorena now teaches primarily out of Los Angeles area and is heavily involved collegiate dancesport. She has been the head coach at USC since 2008, and guest teaches and judges for many universities, including the Claremont colleges, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly SLO, Cal Tech, and University of Wisconsin. She is also faculty at the American Musical and Dramatics Academy, and a contributing writer for BallroomDancers.com. Her latest projects the construction of a text book of basic ballroom principals, and is a founding member of the new Collegiate DanceSport Association, a group dedicated to supporting collegiate dancesport. |
